Russia Temporarily Bans Rice and Rice Flour Export

  • The Russian Federation introduces a temporary ban on the export of rice and rice flour. An order to this effect was signed by RF Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The ban will be in force till December 31, 2023.

There is a number of exemptions from the ban. Thus, exports to the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, Abkhazia and South Ossetia are exempt from the ban.

Neither does the ban cover rice and rice flour that are exported as humanitarian aid or are carried across the Russian territory as part of international transit.

The temporary ban is aimed at maintaining domestic market stability, the press office of the RF Government said in a statement.
