KSK grain terminal, part of Delo Group’s DeloPorts stevedoring holding handled 7.6 mn tons of grain during the 2022/2023 grain season, an increase of 46% compared to the previous season’s result, Delo has reported.
KSK now ranks the first among the grain terminals in the Black Sea basin with its share reaching 30%. The maximum monthly throughput was recorded in March 2023, when KSK handled a record-breaking 801.5 thousand tons of export designated grain.
Delo Group has invested over 9 bn rubles ($108/9 mn) into the grain terminal, which was created from scratch. By the decision of Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, the Group continues to expand the terminal capacity and upgrade machinery and equipment in order to meet the growing grain export volumes.
“We expect that due to well-coordinated efficient work and organization of the terminal’s operational activities next season we will be able to surpass the achieved transshipment figure while maintaining a consistently high level of customer service,” said Igor Yakovenko, DeloPorts Director General.
Delo Group started grain transshipment at the KSK terminal in the port of Novorossiysk in 2007. The infrastructure of the terminal allows of handling of bulk, general and ro-ro cargo.
Vessels are loaded at three berths, including the deepest one in the Azov and Black Sea basin, which can accommodate vessels with a cargo capacity of up to 100,000 tons and a draft of up to 15.9 meters.
The terminal has its own certified laboratory to check the quality of export designated grain.
