Government Opens Tiksi Port for Foreign Vessels

  • The port of Tiksi in the Laptev Sea will become international and will be opened for foreign vessels to call in accordance with the order signed by RF premier Mikhail Mishustin, RF Government press office reports.

    Opening the port for foreign vessels is expected to create conditions for launching an investment project to develop a deepwater hub port for some 30 mn tons per annum off the village of Naiba.

    The project will help create new terminal facilities and new jobs and developing not only the port but the entire Northern Sea Route.
