The Eurasian Economic Commission has thoroughly discussed all the details of the draft agreement On Free trade zone with Iran, so the document can be signed as early as this year, Iran.ru reports quoting Andrey Slepnev, Minister of trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
‘We are finalizing the document, it is a delicate work, which we hope to complete in a month [at the Summit of the Premiers of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian Economic Commission] next month. After that, some formalities are to be completed. I believe it is very possible that we will sign he agreement with Iran this year,’ Slepnev is quoted as saying.
He added that the Agreement On Free trade zone with Iran can lead to a significant increase in mutual trade volumes, which is expected to grow from $6 bn up to $20 bn in a medium term during 5-7 years after signing the Agreement.
Slepnev also noted that it is planned to complete the negotiations on a Free trade zone with Egypt this year.a
