Lotos Launches Paddle Passenger Vessel

  • Astrakhan-based Lotos Shipyard has launched the paddle passenger vessel “Aurum” built to PKS-180 Design, United Shipbuilding Corporation reports.

    The ceremony was attended by Astrakhan Governor Igor Babushkin, USC Board Chairman Georgy Poltavchenko, Mea-Kom MD Nikita Galkin, and Head of Southern Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Center Anatoly Mishanov.

    PKS-180 Design is an 81.6 m LOA 13.8 m beam three-decker with a passenger capacity of 180 people. After launching the vessel will be transferred to Nizhny Novgorod for completing the construction and installing shipboard equipment.

    The customer is Mashpromleasing, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation, the owner and operator will be Rechservice, part pf Gama Group, the vessel was designed by Meta-Kom.

    The vessel will be deployed in the Russian inland waterways.
