Last week, Atommash, part of Rosatom’s machine building division Atomenergomash, loaded two reactor vessels and eight steam generators for shipment to customers, Rosatom said in a statement.
The equipment was built for power unit 5 of the Kudankulam nuclear powers plant in India, and power unit 7 of the Tianwan nuclear power plant in China.
This is the first time in the world’s power energy sector’s history two sets of equipment for nuclear power stations at a time were loaded from the same production facility, Rosatom emphasized.
The equipment will be carried by road to a specialized berth to be loaded on board river barges for delivery to St. Petersburg. From there, the cargo will be shipped tp India and China.
