Terminal Astafiev in the port of Nakhodka in the Russian Far East has received a general permission from the Nakhodka Customs for temporary storage of containers. This is expected to allow of significantly increasing the throughput via the terminal, the company said in a statement.
According to Alexey Yadrischensky, Deputy MD of the company, the permission allows of unloading, storing and customs clearing goods on the territory of the terminal thus significantly facilitating the technology and increasing the speed of container vessel handling.
At present, the company is equipping an additional container storage space at the terminal and starts accepting export cargo delivered by railway.
Terminal Astafiev currently sends 5 to 7 block trains a week to the stations of Seyatel abd Kleschikha in Novosibirsk, Apparatnaya in Yekaterinburg, Shushary in St. Petersburg, and Elektrougli in Moscow.
Containers are dispatched both on fitting platforms and in gondola cars.
