FESCO Transport Group has launched a new intermodal service from Moscow to Kaliningrad via St. Petersburg.
Containers are loaded on a train at the station of Bely Rast in Moscow region and carried to Bronka Port in St. Petersburg in the framework of the company-operated FESCO Moscow Baltic Shuttle (FMBS) rail service.
At Bronka, containers are loaded on board FESCO’s vessels to be shipped to Kaliningrad by the regular cabotage service between Bronka and Baltiysk in Kaliningrad Oblast recently launched by FESCO.
The first FMBS train carrying 120 TEU arrived at Bronka on March 16. The next train is scheduled to depart Bely Rast on March 21.
The transit time by rail from St. Petersburg to Moscow is two days, the transit time by sea from Bronka to Baltiysk is also two days.
The services is aimed mainly for shipping construction materials, equipment, paper, toys, and sanitary products.
