Advanced Development Territory in Murmansk Region Expanded to Build Container Terminal

  • The Arctic Capital Territory of advanced development in Murmansk Region will be expanded in accordance with decree No172 signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on February 8, 2023.

    The territory expansion is aimed to provide for developing a logistics complex. The new territory added will be used to build a container terminal for transit maritime cargo.

    The terminal will transship cargo onto Arctic class vessels capable of operating in the Northern Sea Route, the Government statement reads.

    The logistics complex is to be developed by 2026.

    The project is expected to attract 46.4 bn rubles ($660 mn) of private investment and to create more than 700 new jobd.
