Makhachkala Loads First Potassium Chloride for Iran

  • Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port has started handling fertilizers. This week, the first cargo ship “Caspian Aryana” loaded with potassium chloride left the port for Iran, the port said in a statement.

The first shipment exceeds 3 thousand tons. Some 8 thousand tons of fertilizers more is to be shipped to Iran from Makhachkala soon.

Since the year start, Makhachkala loaded more than 150 thousand tons of grain for Iranian customers and unloaded more than 130 thousand tons of cement delivered from that country.

The port intends to significantly increase export and import traffic. For this purpose, Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port established a dedicated shipping company in late September. At present, it operates three vessels.
