During January-June 2022, the trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union increased by 36.4% year-on-year up to 150.2 bn euro.
According to Eurostat, while import from EU countries into Russia was down 30.4% during the 6 months of 2022 to 29.8 bn euro, export from Russia to the European Union surged by 78.9% up to 120.4 bn euro.
In June 2022, European exports to Russia declined by 38.7% down to 4.6 bn euro, while Russian exports to the EU, on the contrary, grew by 48.8% to 18.6 bn euro.
In January-June 2022 Russia rated the eighth largest importer from the EU. Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia ranked the third after China and the USA.
