Berth N4 used for handling liquefied petroleum gas at the Taman Handling Complex in the port of Taman is to be reconstructed. The Main Department of State Expertise has approved the project aimed to expand the terminal capacity and accommodate larger LPG carriers at the modernized Berth 4.
After completing the reconstruction, the berth will be capable of loading up to 2.5 mn tons of propane and butane per annum onto vessels up to 54,000 dwt, while at present the maximum deadweight of LPG carriers served is 23,000 tons. The berth length will be increased to make 298.2 m.
The overall annual capacity of the terminal will remain 3.5 mn tons, freight traffic will be distributed between all the berths.
