New Direct Service between St. Petersburg and Nhava Sheva

  • Russian freight forwarder Modul has launched a direct container service from St. Petersburg to India via Global Port’s Petrolesport terminal. The first vessel laden with 1,094 TEU of export containers was handled on June 17, the partners said.

The port of discharge for the cargo consisting of paper and pulp products, chemicals, fertilizers, construction materials and spare parts is Nhava Sheva (ВМСТ terminal).

The return voyage with Indian goods (textiles, rice, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, equipment) is to start from Nhava Sheva in mid-June, with a transit time to St. Petersburg making 25 days.

In future, Modul intends to make the service intermodal adding block trains to link St. Petersburg and Nhava Sheva with different locations in Russia and India.
