TransContainer to Carry Lead and Zinc Concentrates

  • TransContainer and Highland Gold-managed Ozyornoe Ltd have concluded an agreement on cooperation to transport concentrates to be produced at the Ozyorny Mining and Processing Plant currently under construction.

The document signed at the TransRussia 2022 international transport and logistics exhibition in Moscow provides for shipping concentrates from Ozyorny both to the domestic and in international markets.

Under the agreement, TransContainer will be responsible for providing transportation services for export designated products and those made for the Russian market.

Cargo will be carried from the settlement of Ozyornoe in Buryatia to TransContainers rail terminal in Chita and loaded onto block trains to be transported to the destination.

The Ozyorny Mining and Processing Plant is expected to start producing zinc and lead concentrates as early as in 2023. The target annual capacity is almost 700,000 tons per annum, which means a weekly full-train service may be required.
