Last week, a new Liebherr LPS 280 portal crane was mounted at Terminal Astafiev in the port of Nakhodka in the Russian Far East.
The new equipment is to be put into operation in March 2022 after commissioning it, training the personnel and registering the equipment with the regulatory authorities concerned.
The operator said it intends to use the crane to handle both solid bulk and container.
During 2021, Terminal Astafiev handled 3.9 mn tons of cargo, up 9.1% year-on-year, all the throughput being coal.
