The consolidated throughput of the stevedoring companies incorporated in Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group made 115.6 mn tons during 2021 increasing by 4.5% year-on-year.
In December 2021, cargo traffic via NCSP declined by 11.5% year-on-year and by 5.6% month-on-month.
Liquid bulk, which accounts for some 80% of the aggregate throughput of the Group, was up 5.4% year-on-year to 92.5 mn tons during 2021.
Crude oil traffic increased by 4% up to some 56 mn tons. Oil products throughput grew by 8.5% up to 35.5 mn tons. Other liquid cargo commodities were down in 2021.
Solid bulk handling increased marginally by 0.2% year-on-year to make 7.1 mn tons. Sugar handling surged 3.7-fold up to 795.5 thousand tons reflecting the growth in demand in FSU Central Asian countries. Coal grew by 1% up to 1.2 mn tons, and chemicals by 56.7% up to 1.3 mn tons.
All the other commodities in this segment declined with ferrous ore down 21.9% to 3.7 mn tons, and other ore cargos down 1.5% to 44.8 thousand tons.
General cargo was on the previous year’s level at 10.9 mn tons. Ferrous metals and cast iron were up 0.7% to 9.6 mn tons.
Non-ferrous metals decreased by 12.4% down to 877.2 thousand tons, timber and logs by 20.5% down to 163.3 thousand tons in 2021. Perishables grew by 55% up to 275.2 thousand tons.
Container traffic grew mostly due to higher volumes handled by Baltic Stevedore Company in Baltiysk in Kaliningrad region.
