Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company, part of Global Ports, has received four straddle carriers CSC 340 Kalmar. Each straddle carrier has a lifting capacity of 40 tons and can handle stacks of up to 3 containers. The newly delivered equipment will complement the 17 straddle carriers already in operation at VSC and will significantly increase the speed of vehicle handling.
The equipment was relocated from another Global Ports terminal, First Container Terminal in St. Petersburg. The straddle carriers were transported by FESCO Transportation Group on board their “FESCO Paris” dry cargo ship equipped with 120-ton onboard cranes of 120.
The total relocation project took 2.5 months, the transportation through the Suez Canal was carried out in 56 days.
