The RF Government has approved an action plan to implement the Arctic zone development Strategy and the Federal policy in the Arctic.
The Strategy envisages stimulating investment into the Arctic region development, developing industrial manufacturing projects and ensuring state security.
The plan contains 268 actions to be implemented mostly during 2021-2022. Some of them are more long-term, like developing the icebreaker fleet and R&D base.
The plan suggest expanding support for investment projects on the PPP basis, and building infrastructure to develop the resource potential of the Arctic.
The plan envisages overhauling the Murmansk Airport, building a road between Naryan-Mar and Usinsk, developing the sea ports of Sabetta and Pevek, and developing touristic industry in Yakutia and Karelia.
