Atommash Ships Reactor for Bangladesh’s First Nuclear Power Plant

  • Atommash has started loading a reactor for shipment to Bangladesh for the nuclear power plant Ruppur. The shipment consists of reactor vessel and two steam generators for the second power unit of the power plant under construction.

    The 320-ton 12 meters long reactor and two 340-ton 14 meters long steam generators will be loaded on a barge from Atommash’s berth and carried to the sea port of Novorossiysk by river. From Novorossiysk, the cargo will be shipped by sea.

    Ruppur is the first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh designed and built to a project developed by Rosatom’s engineering division. The power plant will consist of two power units utilizing VVER-1200 reactors.
