According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Baltic basin ports in March 2021 decreased by 3.9% year-on-year.
Export was down 5.1%, import down 7.8%. Transit made 5.9 thousand TEU, with Kaliningrad handling the entire volume.
The share of the Baltic basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in March 2021 amounted to 44.5%.
Laden container throughput declined by 3.7% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 14.8% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 85.2%.
Transit made 3% of all the laden containers, exports 43.3%, and imports 53.8%.
Empty container traffic was down 4.8%.
The Big Port of St. Petersburg accounted for 83% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Baltic basin sea ports in March. Kaliningrad handled 15.6%, and Ust-Luga 1.4% of the total.
