According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January 2021 Russia exported 3.9 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 23.8% year-on-year, but down 18.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, ferrous metals export grew by 39.5% year-on-year and declined by 5.8% month-on-month to $1.8 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export in January 2021 was up 15.6% year-on-year and up 10.1% month-on-month making 1.4 mn tons. In terms of value, it increased by 32.2% year-on-year and grew by 19.1% month-on-month to $626.6 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January 2021 was up 49.1% year-on-year and up 9.4% month-on-month making 732.7 thousand tons worth $417.2 mn (up 68% year-on-year and up 15.5% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January 2021 made 106 thousand tons, down 50.9% year-on-year and down 87.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $39.1 mn, down 40.8% year-on-year and down 86.4% month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in January 2021 was down 3.6% year-on-year and up 21.9% month-on-month to 63.8 thousand tons. In terms of value, it declined by 3.2% year-on-year and grew by 12.8% month-on-month to make $80.9 mn.
