Tyazhmash Supplies First Crane for Arctic LNG 2 Project

  • In February, Tyazhmash started loading the largest parts of the first of the five cranes ordered by Novatek-Murmansk for Arctic LNG project. The six sections, when assembled, will make a bridge consisting of two beams over 60 meters long and over 150 tons each.

Other components of the crane were sent to the destination earlier this year, the overall number of cargo positions exceeding 80. All of the components are to arrive to the construction site by the end of February.

The contract for heavy 300-ton capacity bridge cranes was signed between Tyazhmash and Uralmashzavod in 2019. The machines will be mounted at the LNG Construction Center in the Kola Bay, where structural parts of modules for the would-be floating LNG plant are to be built.
