NSCP Cargo Throughput Down 21% YoY

  • Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port has posted operational update for January-September 2020. The aggregate throughput of the group made 84.4 mn tons, 21.3% below the result for the same period of 2019.

    Liquid bulk, which accounts for some 80% of the total throughput, declined by 23.4% year-on-year to 67.5 mn tons. Crude oil traffic dropped by 31.8% to make 41.5 mn tons, much due to the pandemic and the decision to cut production by the OPEC+ members.

    Light oil products handling was up 1.3%.

    Dry cargo throughput decreased by 12.1% down to 16.9 mn tons, including 5.2 mn tons of solid bulk, which grew by 8.8% compensating for a 17.9% decline in ferrous metals down to 7.2 mn tons.
