According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-June 2020 Russia exported 20.6 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 2.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 17.1% down to $8.1 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was up 1.4% year-on-year to some 7.7 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 14.2% down to $2.8 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export increased by 8.3% year-on-year up to 3.7 mn tons worth $1.7 bn, down 11.1%.
Cast iron export dropped by 28% year-on-year down to 1.7 mn tons worth over $532 mn, down 36.9%.
Ferroalloys export in January-June 2020 decreased by 12.8% year-on-year down to 367 thousand tons worth $461.8 mn (-30.5%).
In June 2020, ferrous metals export was up 19.5% year-on-year and up 13% month-on-month to 4.2 mn tons. In terms of value, it declined by 3.6% year-on-year, but grew by 10.3% month-on-month to make $1.5 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was up 10.8% year-on-year and down 11.3% month-on-month making 1.3 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 13.1% year-on-year and by 10.8% month-on-month to $439.1 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export was up 44.4% year-on-year and down 17.6% month-on-month making 744.1 thousand tons worth $334.6 mn (up 13% year-on-year and down 14% month-on-month).
Cast iron export made 656.2 thousand tons, up 20.9% year-on-year and up 3.8-fold month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $198.9 mn, up 7.5% year-on-year and up 3.8-fold month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in June 2020 was down 5.6% year-on-year and up 8.3% month-on-month to 57.6 thousand tons. In terms of value, it declined by 29.7% year-on-year and increased by 2.4% month-on-month to make $64.5 mn.
