Freight Rates from Ust-Luga, Week 33, 2020

  • Demand for Handy, and Supramax and Ultramax bulkers in the Baltic is growing, which made it possible for owners to dictate better rates. Thus, a shipment of 40 tons from St. Petersburg to South Africa will cost about $32-34 pmt.

    On week 33 freight rates for 30,000-35,000 dwt bulkers from Ust-Luga in the Baltic went up, according to Sea Lines ship brokers.

    Last week, rates on the Ust-Luga – Continent – Ust-Luga routes were $14 pmt, rates from Ust-Luga to ARAG made $14.25 pmt.

    Rates from Ust-Luga were $18.75 pmt to West Med rates, and $19.59 pmt to East Med.

    Rates for 30,000-35,000 dwt bulkers from Ust-Luga to the Black Sea amounted to $21 pmt, rates to the Persian Gulf were $33 pmt.

    Intra-Baltic rates for 3,000-5,000 dwt bulkers from Ust-Luga did not change significantly.

    Thus, rates from Ust-Luga to Klaipeda were €7 pmt, and those to Riga and Stockholm also €7 pmt.

    Freight rates from Ust-Luga to Hamburg made €14 pmt, and to Bremerhaven €15 pmt.

    Rates from Ust-Luga to ARAG were €16 pmt, and those to Dublin €28 pmt.
