Продуктовый импорт, 5 месяцев 2020: в мае существенно выросли поставки пальмового масла

Food Products Import in January-May 2020: Palm Oil Import Up in May

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-May 2020 fresh and frozen meat import was down 30.2% year-on-year to 117.5 thousand tons.

    Fresh and frozen poultry import decreased by 2.3% down to 89.4 thousand tons. Fish import declined by 8.7% down to 155.7 thousand tons. Canned meat and meat specialties import grew by 40.7% making 8.3 thousand tons.

    Milk and condensed cream import was down 23.2% to 59.7 thousand tons. Butter import increased by 15.7% amounting to 56 thousand tons. Cheese import grew by 11.4% up to 119.6 thousand tons.

    Palm oil import was up 0.7% to 412.6 thousand tons.

    Citrus fruit import was down 7.9% to 742 thousand tons. Banana import decreased by 0.7% down to 712.2 thousand tons, and apple import grew by 2.7% up to 537.2 thousand tons.

    Raw sugar import decreased by 21.4% down to 2.2 thousand tons, white sugar import dropped by 50.3% down to 86.4 thousand tons.

    Coffee import in January-May grew by 1.2% up to 93.6 thousand tons, and tea import by 0.2% up to 64 thousand tons.

    In May, the following categories demonstrated a year-on-year growth in import volumes: palm oil (up 2.3-fold to 113.2 thousand tons), citrus fruit (up 22.1% to 66.8 thousand tons), apples (up 15.5% to 103.7 thousand tons), cheese (up 19.4% to 23.4 thousand tons), milk and condensed cream (up 5.6% to 11.4 thousand tons), butter (up 2.6% to 7.9 thousand tons), canned meat and meat specialties (up 50% to 1.5 thousand tons). Other food products import was down.

    Compared to April 2020, the import of palm oil, cheese, fresh and frozen poultry, milk and condensed cream increased, the rest of the food product categories under report were down.

    In May, coffee import decreased by 6.8% year-on-year and by 10.6% month-on-month to make 17.7 thousand tons. Tea import was up 15.7% year-on-year and up 12.9% month-on-month to 14 thousand tons.
