Cargo throughput coal and coke in May

TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Coal and Coke Throughput in January-May 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, coal and coke throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-May 2020 amounted to 71.6 mn tons (+1.6%). It should be noted that coal and coke account for 20.4% of the total throughput.

    Vostochny Port is the leader in terms of coal and coke throughput with 11.6 mn tons, up 6.3% year-on-year.

    Rosterminalugol (Ust-Luga) saw its coal and coke traffic grew by 16.1% up to 10.8 mn tons.

    Daltransugol (Vanino) handled 9.5 mn tons, up 6.3% year-on-year.

    Murmansk Commercial Sea Port handled 6.2 mn tons (-6.9%).

    Coal and coke throughput via Nakhodka MTP declined by 14.9% down to 3.6 mn tons.

    It should be noted that the highest coal and coke throughput growth was via Donskoy Port in Rostov-na-Donu, its coal and coke traffic surged 18.7-fold. Terminal-Sovgavan was up 8.5-fold, and Oteko Portservice up 6.3-fold.

    The largest decrease in coal and coke traffic was in Vostokmorservice (-96.1%), Transcargo (port Kavkaz) (-83.5%) and Azov Sea Port (-81.5%).
