  • According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Arctic basin ports in February 2020 increased by 5.3% year-on-year. Cabotage, which accounts for the major share of the total, was up 3.8%. Export grew by 40%. Import made 188 TEU.

    The share of the Arctic basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in February 2020 amounted to 3.2%.

    Laden container throughput in the Arctic increased by 6% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 3.5% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 96.5%. Cabotage made 99% of all the laden containers, imports 0.7%, exports 0.3%.

    Empty container traffic grew by 4.3%.

    The port of Dudinka accounted for 41.9% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Arctic basin sea ports in February. Murmansk handled 32.3% of the total, and Arkhangelsk 25.8%.
