February 6, the “SCF Angara” tanker en route from Ust-Luga to Copenhagen received a distress signal from the Russian fishing trawler “Pongoma”. The vessels in distress was 26 miles off shore abeam Tallinn in the Gulf of Finland.
The tanker proceeded to the trawler and lifted all the seven members of its crew on board. Two of them needed medical assistance and were airlifted to Helsinki, the other five were taken to Tallinn by the Estonian rescue service’s helicopter.
The “SCF Angara” continued to its destination.
