In October 2019, container traffic via Russia’s Far Eastern port was up 4.6% year-on-year. Import increased by 4.9%, cabotage by 6.8% and transit by 23.1%. Export, on the contrary, declined by 2%.
Vladivostok
Vladivostok accounted for 60.1% of the aggregate container throughput of the Far Eastern sea ports in October. Compared to October 2018, the port handled container volume increased by 5.9%. Export was up 6.6%, import up 3.8% and transit surged by 3.1-fold. Cabotage decreased by 3.7% year-on-year.
Vostochny
Container traffic via Vostochny during the month under report decreased by 5.1%. Export dropped by 24.3%, transit was down 11.6%. Cabotage grew by 8% and import by 30.3% year-on-year.
Korsakov
Cabotage constitutes the major share of the container throughput via Korsakov. In October this year it increased by 32.1%. Import declined by 6.2%, export was down 5.5%. The total container throughput was 29.7% above the October 2018 result.
Magadan
Container traffic via Magadan remained much on the previous year’s level (-0.2%). Cabotage, which constitutes the major share of the total, was just 0.2% above the October 2018 figure. Import dropped by 74%. Export doubled.
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Container traffic via Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky increased by 3.4% year-on-year. Almost all of the total volume is cabotage, which grew by 3.9%. Import surged 18-fold, and export was down 26.3% year-on-year.
