In August 2019, container traffic via Russia’s Southern ports increased by 10.3% year-on-year. Export was up 7.5%, import up 18.2%. Cabotage dropped by 88.6% and transit by 64.5%.
Novorossiysk
Novorossiysk handled 97.3% of the entire Russia’s Southern ports’ container throughput in August. Compared to August 2018, the total volume increased by 10.5%. Export was up 6.5%, and import up 17.6%. Transit dropped by 64.5% year-on-year. Cabotage was non-existent in August.

Azov
Container traffic via Azov grew by 30.8% year-on-year. Export was up 49.2%, and import up 13.8%.

Kavkaz
Container traffic via Port Kavkaz increased by 39.1% year-on-year in August. Export surged 11.3-fold, cabotage, on the contrary, declined by 36.7%. Import made 23 TEU.

Sevastopol
Container throughput via Sevastopol decreased by 51.2% year-on-year. Cabotage was non-existent. Import made 77 TEU, and export was 84 TEU, while last year all of the port’s container traffic was cabotage.

Astrakhan
The aggregate container throughput via Astrakhan and Olya grew by 2.5%. Import surged by 75%. Cabotage declined by 42.9% and export by 37%.
