RZD Logistics in cooperation with its subsidiary Far East Land Bridge has launched a regular container rail service between Dongguan in Guangdong Province in China and Vorsino in Kaluga region in Russia.
Previously, container trains from this province departed from Guangzhou. The new service offers lower tariff for shippers as well as subsidies for terminal costs in China.
The train service from Guangzhou was launched in April 2017, it was weekly. The Dongguan – Vorsino service offers two departures a week. Trains from Guangzhou will continue running.
The train service from Dongguan is routed via the Zabaikalsk-Manzhouli border crossing. The transit time is about 14 days. At present, cargo structure includes consumer goods, fabrics, cosmetics, and flooring materials.
The back load from Vorsino to Dongguan consists of food products that re not temperature sensitive, construction materials, confectionary, timber and sawn goods, and flour.
