  • FESCO and RZD Logistics expand the geography of the Trans-Siberian LandBridge service and have organized a new railway container service from South Korea to Europe.

On June 25 the first container was dispatched from Pusan. Than the container was delivered to the Commercial Port of Vladivostok by FESCO Korea Express sea service and further on to the Brest rail station via the Trans-Siberian railway by RZD Logistics. After transshipment to the 1435 mm gauge rolling stock, the container was delivered to Brzeg Dolny railway station in Poland. The cargo was transported to the client’s warehouse in Wroclaw in Poland by truck. The total transit time was 21 days. It is twice as fast as shippping by the sea route via the Suez Canal.

In the framework of the joint service FESCO organizes sea and truck delivery, port handling and provides container fleet. RZD Logistics is responsible for rail transportation. Different cargoes will be delivered from Korea to Europe including car parts.

At the end of May the companies launched Trans-Siberian LandBridge service by dispatching a test container from the Japanese port of Yokohama to Wroclaw in Poland. In the framework of test transportations the companies worked out the delivery technology to make the transit service from Asia and Pacific to Europe via the Russian Far East and the Trans-Siberian railway available to customers this year.
