Rail Alternative from China to Kaliningrad

  • TransContainer has developed a new intermodal logistics scheme delivering rolled steel from China via Vladivostok to Kaliningrad for one of the local companies.

Cargo was delivered on board a bulker from Tianjin to Pervomaysky terminal in Vladivostok and then by rail in a block train to Kaliningrad.

The transit time by rail made 13 days. The train carrying 96 TEU arrived to Kaliningrad on October 28.

The route was offered as an alternative to the deep sea scheme the customer has been using.

At present, the regularity of the service is to be defined after the results of the test delivery are analyzed.

Earlier in summer TransContainer carried raw materials for polymer production for another customer in Kaliningrad region from Dalian in China.
