Eurosib Transport Systems has developed an alternative logistics scheme for KAMAZ.
The company delivered 44 40’ containers from Germany to the truck manufacturer’s facility in Naberezhnye Chelny in Russia by rail.
Until now, all auto parts for KAMAZ were shipped by sea to St. Petersburg and then trucked to the destination.
According to Eurosib, the transit time by rail was just 8 days, two or three times less than shipping by sea.
The company also provided a door-to-door delivery by road from the rail station to the factory.
It was a test shipment, now the company is negotiating with the customer on the service schedule. Eurosib says, technically they can offer a regular weekly train service.
