Russia’s import of cars during January-August 2018 amounted to 162.4 thousand units, increasing 18.7% year-on-year.
In terms of value, car import, according to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, grew 14.5% to exceed $4.6 bn.
Truck import declined 7.2% down to 14.5 thousand units.
However, in terms of value truck import increased 8% up to over $1.3 bn.
Car export grew by just 0.2% up to 57.2 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was down 13.9% to $791.8 mn.
Truck export was up 3.7% to 8.4 thousand units.
In terms of value, truck export increased 13.4% up to $191.4 mn.
