The fourth annual The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference, which is taking place on Tuesday 22nd October at The Atlantis, the Palm, in Dubai, has assembled a high-quality cast of speakers and panelists. Nowhere is this more evident than in Session 2, which looks at the need to invest in, and adapt, support infrastructure and services to ensure market success.
Speakers confirmed for this part of the conference include Anders Østergaard, Group CEO of Monjasa; Capt. Mohammed Al Ali, Senior Vice President Ship Management, ADNOC L&S; Capt. Speakers will assess the role of classification and other technical services in supporting the growth of tanker shipping activities in the region. The investments in tanker repair, maintenance and conversion services required will feature as will an assessment of the types and sizes of tanker that will be ordered over the next few years and the impact of this spending on market fundamentals. Bunker demand and in particular the impact of scrubbers, and low sulphur fuel availability, on tanker shipping requirements, will be a key topic in this session, along with a discussion around ship management and chartering tools. Port facilities, and the requirement for investment in both ship-to-shore and storage facilities, will be covered in this session as well.
Aimed at influential decision makers and opinion formers in the tanker shipping and related business sectors, the one-day Conference will highlight regional and global trends in the crude, products and chemicals trades. This year there will also be coverage of several new areas, including the bunker trades and petrochemical markets.
