  • According to Russian Railways, the loading of export designated cargo destined for Russian ports made 50.2 mn tons in January-February 2018 increasing 4.8% year-on-year.

    43.6% is coal. Oil accounts for 28.4%, ferrous metals for 9.3%, fertilizers for 6.7%, and grains for 4% of the entire loading volume.

    Coal loading grew 5.1%, fertilizers were up 5.9%, grains up 37.8%, paper up 9.1% and timber and logs up 18% year-on-year.

    22.2 mn tons, 14% more than in January-February 2017, was designated for the North-West sea ports.

    The South region ports accounted for 12.4 mn tons, down 4.3% year-on-year.

    The volume loaded for the ports of the Russian Far East grew 1.4% to make 15.4 mn tons.

    In February, export cargo loading designated for Russian sea ports increased 6.3% year-on-year amounting to 24.3 mn tons.
