From January to October this year, the port of Murmansk has handled 42.5 million tons of cargo. Such data was quoted by Dmitry Sosnin, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Murmansk Region, as part of the 7th International Forum “The Arctic: Present and Future”. At the same time, the volume of liquid cargo amounted to 23.9 million tons, dry cargo – 18.6 million tons.
“A lot of export cargo passes through the Murmansk region,” said Dmitry Sosnin. – Recently in the port of Murmansk and through the railway we handle cargoes associated with the development of the Arctic, as well as offshore fields. They are also export oriented.”
