Food Products Import Growing

  • Russia’s import of meat products is growing. According to the RF Customs Service’s statistics, fresh and frozen meat import into Russia made 411.4 thousand tons, up 4.5% year-on-year.

    Meat products and canned meat import to the Russian market increased 6.6%, however the volume is rather small, just 11.8 thousand tons.

    Fresh and frozen poultry import was up 12.1% to 154.2 thousand tons. Fish import was up 16% to 249.6 thousand tons.

    Dairy import is also growing. Thus, condensed cream and milk import increased 7.7% year-on-year to 162.9 thousand tons. Butter import grew 21.9% to 77.3 thousand tons.

    Vegetable oil import surged 6.4-fold amounting to 14.1 thousand tons.

    Citrus fruit import was up 6.5% year-on-year to 803.2 thousand tons.

    Crude sugar import dropped 95.4% to 10.5 thousand tons, while white sugar import declined just 3.5% to 173.2 thousand tons.

    Russia’s import of coffee was up 14.7% to 120.9 thousand tons, and that of tea increased 2.3% to 109.9 thousand tons.
