December 8 the LNG tanker “Christophe de Margerie” took on board the first cargo of liquefied natural gas produced by Novatek at its new Yamal LNG plant in Sabetta.
According to Novatek, the first shipment of 170 thousand cubic meters was sold to Petronas LNG UK Limited (PLUK).
LNG sales according to the long-term contracts will commence in April 2018. All LNG sales prior to that date will be sold by Yamal LNG shareholders on a spot basis.
The ceremony in Sabetta was attended by RF President Vladimir Putin who gave a command to start the loading, and governmental officials.
