Russia Bans Precious Metals Scrap Export

  • The Government of the Russian Federation has implemented a ban on the export of waste and scrap of precious metals, of precious metal-clad metals, and other waste and scrap that contain precious metals.

    The ban also applies to the export of waste and scrap of electric and electronic devices used mainly for extracting precious metals.

    Order No1824 to this effect was signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on October 31, 2023 and comes into force on November 1, 2023.

    The ban does not apply to the export of cathode antimony in ingots and samples taken from batches of waste and scrap precious metals.
