More than 50,000 Trucks Cross Blagoveschensk – Heihe Bridge

  • 50.4 thousand trucks crossed the Amur River by the Blagoveschensk – Heihe bridge between Russia and China since the bridge was put into operation in June 2922.

    According to the RF Ministry for the development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, freight traffic by the bridge is supported by the new Kanikurgan logistics center built on the nearby territory of advanced development.

    According to Vassily Orlov, Governor of the Amur Region, the actual capacity of the bridge is several times larger. After the border crossing checkpoint construction to replace the temporary one currently utilized is completed, there will be 28 lanes to serve both freight and passenger vehicles in the control zone.

    Passenger traffic by the Blagoveschensk – Heihe bridge is expected to start next year, at present Russia and China are discussing the issues related on the diplomatic level.

    During 2022 and the first half of 2023, more than 400,000 tons of export and import cargo was carried across the bridge. Imports to Russia include new cars and special purpose vehicles, equipment, electric appliances, consumer goods, mail, vegetables and fruit. Exports consist of soybean products, timber and woodwork, cosmetics.
