China – Sri Lanka – Russia Service Update

  • In August, First Container Terminal in St. Petersburg received the first call of the “Honrise” container ship operated by Transmasters in their China – Sri Lanka – Russia service, Global Ports said in a statement.

Transmasters has been replacing the universal cargo vessels it previously deployed in its services between Asian ports and St. Petersburg with containerships.

The 1,662 TEU, 198 m LOA “Honrise” has replaced the universal cargo ship “Huanghai Advance” and will be deployed in the China – Sri Lanka – Russia (FCT) service.

The service deploys two more containerships of the same capacity and two feeder vessels that carry containers between China and the port of Colombo in Sri Lanka.

Container vessels take 1.5-2 times less time to handle at FCT than universal cargo ships, Global Ports noted.

Transmasters has sarted making ship calls at FCT in St. Petersburg and ULCT om Ust-Luga, both parts of Global Ports, in 2022.
