The leaders of Kazakhstan’s and Azerbaijan railway administrations in a meeting at the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) headquarters discussed continuing cooperation and creating favourable conditions for freight transportation by the TransCaspian International Transport Route via China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to Europe.
According to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, since the year start more than 1.3 million tons of cargo was varied by the TransCaspian International Transport Route, up 77.2% year-on-year.
To facilitate seamless freight movement and solve problems that may arise a joint virtual control center has been established. The parties noted that the direct links between the railway operators of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan help solve issues quicker and more efficiently.
