Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port in the Russian Far East has started handling import containers. An agreement to this effect was signed with RZD Business Asset, the company said in a statement.
The first container vessel, the “KCR-1” was unloaded in Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port on July 11. 55 40’ units, or 110 TEU was unloaded.
The port has obtained all the permits from the customs authorities and Russian Railways required to handle import containers, and updated its infrastructure and equipment, Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port MD Vladimir Grigoriev said.
He added the port plans to handle import containers on a regular basis in future.
