Lotos Yard, part of United Shipping Corporation’s Southern Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Center, has launched a Design 93.159.1 self-propelled cutter suction dredger, USC said in a statement.
The contract for building four rotary and cutter suction dredgers to be deployed in Russia’s inland shipping waterway basins was signed with State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK).
The lead ship in the series, the Design 93.159 rotary dredger “Lotos-1” is currently undergoing trials and is scheduled for delivery next month.
The vessels of the project are capable of dredging at a temperature ranging between minus 10 degrees and plus 35 degrees Centigrade.

- Draft average with fuel tanks full: 1.30 m;
- Dredging depth maximum: 10 m;
