VEL, a resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok, a subsidiary of RusHydro, intends to develop a universal logistics terminal, the RF Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic said in a statement.
The new facility is to be put into operation in early 2025. It will be a state of the art terminal equipped with gantry cranes, reach stackers with a direct link to the TransSiberian Railway. The investment into the project is estimated to make some 2.5 bln rubles ($30.5 mn).
The annual capacity of the terminal will make 130,000 TEU with a storage capacity of 2,700 TEU at a time. The terminal will be used mainly to handled containerized shipments of Russian companies delivered by rail from other regions of Russia and designated for export PR countries.
