Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard has started the construction of the Design 00840 lead ship. The river-sea-going vessel is the first in a series of three passenger vessels to be built for a Russian shipping company/
According to United Shipbuilding Corporation, the Design 00840 vessels will be deployed in the Black and White seas and in the Sea of Azov, in the Gulf of Finland and on Russia’s inland waterways. The first ship is to be delivered in 2025, and the two others in 2026.
The Design 00840 is a steel self-propelled vessel with two pivoting propellers, a vertical bow and a transom stern, an excess freeboard, a four-story superstructure, a forward wheelhouse, and an aft engine room.
The passenger capacity of the vessel is 180 people. There will be 30 standard cabins, 44 standard cabins with a balcony, 10 deluxe cabins, 2grand suites and 2 cabins for passengers with special needs.
