Two trucks with TIR Carnets have undergone customs formalities to enter Russia from China via the Zabaikalsk border crossing checkpoint, the first after a long break during the covid pandemic.
According to the Far Eastern Customs Administration, the cargo designated for a Russian company included office paper, water heaters and microwave ovens.
Customs transit procedure using TIR Carnet allows of reducing the time spent on border crossing customs formalities and thus increases the capacity at border crossing checkpoints, the Customs Administration said.
